Rāg Māru Bihāg has playful and romantic emotions. This solo presentation of the Rāg starts with a short improvised Alāp followed by a freeform vocal composition, usually set in a 16-beat time cycle called 'teental' and concludes with Jor/Jhāllā, a section which usually precedes the fixed compositions and explores the Rāg using rhythmical phrases.
